There is Hope - Proof that Jesus is Coming Soon
For followers of Christ, the Second Coming of Christ doesn't have to be scary. In fact, it should be the opposite. Apostle Paul calls it our "blessed hope."
waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, -Titus 2:13
At the return of Christ, we will be reunited with dead loved ones who are in Christ. Furthermore, we will be given a transformed and immortal body, just like the one Jesus has. (1 Cor. 15; Phil 3:21) We will never again get sick or die. We will never again suffer from the scourge of things like depression and anxiety. (Isaiah. 35:10) Furthermore, we will exist in perfect harmony with one another. On top of all this, we will live in eternal glory. (Romans 8)
But this isn't even the main event. We will get to spend the rest of our eternal lives with Jesus Christ, the most loving, kind, merciful, good and perfect Being in all of reality. (1 Thess. 4:17; 5:10) Clearly, the Second Coming is something that believers should look forward to .
We cannot know the exact day or hour of Jesus' return. However, Jesus tells us that when certain events take place, we can know that he is just around the corner:
"From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates." (Matthew 24:32-33 ESV)
When talking about his return, Jesus makes many references to prophecies that have already been foretold in Daniel. He even specifically mentions that one important sign of his return, “the abomination of desolation,” was “spoken of by the prophet Daniel.” (Matt. 24:15) This refers to the most obvious act of evil that the Antichrist commits in the end times.
Jesus also says that everyone “will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven.” (Matt. 24:30) Yet this wording is borrowed right from Daniel 7, which discusses the Antichrist’s rise to power and ultimate defeat at the hands of God.
Therefore, if Jesus thinks the book of Daniel is important for understanding the end times, then so should we.
In recent history, many specific Daniel and Revelation prophecies have been fulfilled about the Antichrist's kingdom and his rise to power. Professional theologians have been anticipating these for years. Yet now, these incredible prophecies have finally come to pass.
But there are often big gaps in prophecy. At his first coming, Jesus fulfilled only some of the Old Testament prophecies about the Messiah. At his Second Coming, he will fulfill the rest of the prophecies about the Messiah. However, there is a gap of nearly 2000 years between these events, which is not obvious when reading the prophecies.
If this is true of Christ, it may be true of the Antichrist as well. From 1999 - 2006 a certain man fulfilled three very specific prophecies about the Antichrist’s rise to power.
Antichrist's Rise to Power
Daniel 7:7-8; 24 – Man rises up among 10-nation military alliance in Europe
Daniel 7:7-8; 24 – Man puts down 3 out of 10 of those nations in his rise to power
Revelation 17:12-13 – 10-nation alliance transfers their military functions to this man
Furthermore, he came from a political organization that fulfills three prophecies about the Antichrist’s kingdom.
Daniel 2:41 - Antichrist's kingdom is "divided" and struggles to be united
Daniel 2:42 - Antichrist's kingdom is partly strong and partly weak
Daniel 2:43 - Antichrist's kingdom fails to unite via intermarriage
Nevertheless, he retired from politics in 2009. Back then, only a fool would think he would later make a comeback in 2019, at 77 years old. But as both Abraham and Moses prove, age is no barrier for someone to fulfill God’s plan. Abraham was nearly 100 when he had his promised child. Moses was about 80 when he started his ministry.
The position he once held is about to be empowered. Furthermore, the stage may be set for him to step into that role again. If he did so, political programs now exist which would allow him to fulfill three more prophecies about the Antichrist.
Prophecies in Progress
Daniel 11:38 - Antichrist leads defense spending program
Revelation 17:17 - European military forces unite around Antichrist
Daniel 9:27 - Antichrist makes 7-year contract with Israel
