Solana Pushes for EU Defense Spending Amid Increase in Political Activity

In a Youtube video from July 2018, I summarized how Javier Solana has fulfilled major prophecies about the Antichrist’s rise to power. In the video (and corresponding article), I proposed that Solana might fulfill prophecy by returning to lead the European Defense Fund. This article is written with that piece in mind.

On February 24th, 2022, Russia invaded the Ukraine. This prompted historic pledges by EU member countries to boost defense spending. In their Versailles Declaration of March 11, 2022, almost two whole pages are devoted to defense spending and defense capabilities:

In view of the challenges we face and in order to better protect our citizens, while acknowledging the specific character of the security and defence policy of certain Member States, we must resolutely invest more and better in defence capabilities and innovative technologies. We therefore agreed to: a) increase substantially defence expenditures, with a significant share for investment, focusing on identified strategic shortfalls, and with defence capabilities developed in a collaborative way within the European Union;

Since this invasion, Javier Solana has been giving a flurry of interviews about the Russia-Ukraine war. In some of these interviews, he has called for coordinated increases in European defense spending.

For Solana, the fact of developing a European self-defense means "spending more and spending better; and spending better means spending in a coordinated way". -Javier Solana (March 4, 2022)

Solana: "The EU must spend more on defense and improve capabilities in the face of new threats" -Javier Solana (March 15, 2022)

“First, the EU must expand its security and defense capabilities, and the ‘Strategic Compass’ currently being drawn up should serve to guide policy in this domain. While Europe clearly must invest in its military capabilities, this means not only spending more money but also undertaking such efforts as Europeans rather than as individual states.” -Javier Solana (March 22, 2022)

None of this is new. Solana has a history of calling for increased defense spending:

“...we should spend more, spend better and spend more together." - Javier Solana, 2006

"the bottom-line we should never forget is that we need to increase what we invest in defense - that is, increase spending on research, development, and equipment procurement..." -Javier Solana, 2007

According to one article, the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, is recruiting Solana to improve the Prime Minister’s image. Furthermore, Javier Solana is said to be attending the NATO Summit in Madrid in June 2022. This is a meeting where, among other things, they will discuss the future of the alliance. As a former NATO Secretary-General himself, Solana has a lot of expertise in this area.  If he actually attends, this could be his most high profile meeting since holding office in the EU from 1999-2009.

This flurry of interviews and higher level political activity in response to the Russia-Ukraine war could be an indication that he is about to move into a position of power, wherein he would finally lead EU’s defense spending, and thus fulfill prophecy. However, Solana is still nearly 80, and his age is really pushing this theory to the limit. God has a history of doing absolutely impossible things when fulfilling prophecy, to show his glory. Maybe this is one of those times.

We are really burning the midnight oil here. Much of this scenario must unfold within the next 5-10 years. The Jesus Film Project believes that it is “possible” for the Great Commission to be fulfilled in the next 5-10 years. Once that happens, then “the end” will come (Matthew 24:14).
